point pattern

A set of events in a study region. An event is an observation of the type we are interested in, at some point location. A point pattern must be mapped on a plane, with an objectively determined study area. It should also not be a sample, but a census, with one to one correspondence between events and the objects of interest. This means that event locations should be 'proper', not, for example the centroids of polygons.
